New York State law currently does not include parents who have experienced a stillbirth; nor provides all birthing parents with the time needed to heal; New Legislation (S.9424) would provide parents with 12 weeks of paid leave after birth.

Currently, all parents qualify for 12 weeks of Paid Family Leave until they receive the devastating news that their child has died in the womb or during labor. This is happening to 5 New York families a day.
